Overfilled autobox

Wed Aug 25, 2021 6:11 pm

I have the Gen4 DiD, and I sometimes get a lag when you start accelerating. I have now discovered that the auto-box fluid is way over the mark. Can this be the cause, and what else could it result in? I do find that the consumption is a bit high - my son's 3.8 Gen4 is lighter on fuel!

1) A DiD that is heavier on fuel than a 3.8V6 doesn't sound right.
2) Did you check the gearbox oil level as per instructions in the owner's manual?

Autobox level should be checked while car is parked, idling and on level ground.

Hi everybody. I have a 2008 PJ swb 3.2

Also questions. What would be the symptoms/results of an overfilled box, how do you drain if oil level is to high, would it cause any damage on the long term?

Thanks
