Hi,
My Pajero 3.5 fuel gauge is not working properly.
I have replaced the fuel sender unit, still fuel gauge is not 100%
I get 5.5Volts at the fuel sender harness. Is this correct, or should it give 12Volts?
You need to try a separate gauge, just to eliminate it.
5.5v does not sound right
5.5v does not sound right
Hi,
The gauge sometimes shows empty/does not work at all.
If I press on the speedo unit, the gauge works. Must be bad connection. I re-soldered the fuel gauge pins as well as resistor number 12 on the small pc board. Gauge works now, not sure if it is accurate. I will fill the tank and see what happens.
I have read many threads on Google yesterday, sounds like the power runs from the ignition to the gauge, then through a regulator and then to the sender unit, so that explains the 5.5 Volts.
If the gauge is faulty, a replacement gauge costs about R2500 ! Ouch!
