Hi Guys,
I need some technical advice please!!!!!
I have a 99 Blister Fender Auto,
The vehicle is stuck in front diff lock and does want to release.
I have checked for vacuum at bottom where the diff lock silinder is and there is vacuum but to no help it is stuck. I tried to rock it forward and reverse and still does not release.
I have on advice also disconnected both battery poles to try and reset ECU but did not get any results there as well.
Any advice???????
Thanks

Had same problem once after came down the Sani pass in low range. By driving forwards and backwards in a straight line about 20 times it released eventually. Never happened since. My thoughts was not enough usage. Maybe the people with the real know-how has the solution. I am worried it can happen again.
Try my way but very gently and preferably not on tar.

See your next Mitsubishi Dealer for advice/help - that might be the most successful next step.

Thanks for your replies guys,
I have tried the rocking thing for about an hour today but still no results here.
Does anyone know what could have been going wrong mechanically as I can not find anything in the workshop manual?
Any transfer box speciliasts out there?

Just for clarity.
There is no front diff lock in the Pajero (at least a standard one). It sounds like the driveshaft is not disconnecting properly, and is probably not a transfer box issue.
I assume you're in 4H, so you won't incur any damage driving round like that, but get it to the agents asap.

Hi Simon,
I have a 99 Blister Fender and it does have a front diff lock.(Or at least that is what is showing on the dash light-front differential Lock)
The gear lever does not even want to move out of the gear it is in (meaning the transfer gear box lever) as this is automatic as well.(Even in neutral no reaction as front diff lock will not engage to 4 llc without being in neutral.)
What could make it stuck in that specific gear - could the free wheel actuater have something to do with this?
Thanks for your response

Can you post a picture of your dash light? Are you sure you are not referring to the Centre Diff Lock, the one between the 2 axles?
Even in neutral no reaction as front diff lock will not engage to 4llc without being in neutral.
I am now confused... are you trying to get it INTO 4Llc, or out of 4WD completely.

Hi Sorry guys,
It must be then the centre diff lock I am refferring to.
What is happening now the vehicle shows on dash normal two wheel (rear) drive but with the centre diff lock light burning.
What is strange is that the transfer box lever feels as if it is in neutral but centre diff stays in and I can not move the transfer lever to any position to disengage .
Does this explain more??
