Hi. My Pajero's indicators work most of the time, but usually not while using the headlights. The brights work even less often. These are all on the same arm which was replaced with a Mitsubishi part. The fog lights are different switches and seldom turn on. The lights on the radio and gps sometimes start flickering like crazy.
After replacing the indicator arm without it solving the problem I returned the vehicle where I was told it was only a loose connection which they then fixed. This fix lasted less than a day. Because the original problem was not resolved but set me back a small fortune, I'm hesitant to return the car to them again.
Any suggestions on what could be causing this issue and if it is something I could maybe fix myself, would be much appreciated. I know very little about this but found it could be fuses, and/or relays, and/or wiring. Anything else and where and how do I start troubleshooting?

This is a very unsual problem, and sounds like a bad earth connection of a common wire that feed these circuits.

You do not mention the model, but the basics are mostly the same.

You also mention "they" as the repairs guys, but dealership, auto electrician?

Intermittent electrical problems can really mess a person around. I owned a Nissan 200SX which cut out anytime it chose. I spent probably a full day going through every electrical connection I could find from the ecu to the earth straps to removing every fuse and relay, but could not find it. I eventually had to take it to an auto electrician. Got it back the same day

What I am actually saying is a good auto electrician will sort this out, and not a auto workshop.

On this forum and on the web you will find the necessary schematics pertaining to these areas. You can give it a go, but don't frustrate yourself and waste time like it did.
