Hey you all, tonight i am a happy man.
Last night i inspected the fuel system as her flat spot and hard cold start would not go away.
There was no fuel pumping back to the tank so it was evident that the fuel pressure was low. Today i took her to SAC for a pressure test and yes, fuel pump buggered, pressure only 1.8 and bringing power on the back wheels down to 58kw and torque 154! so i took it out and replaced the pump luckily a good friend had one, the stealers quoted R6890.
MY Pajero is fixed, all symptoms gone!
My baby is back!
Excellent service from SAC Cape Town!!!

Hi 4ePik,
I read your comment above about using this procedure to reset your ecu learned values...would this work for a 3.2 Di-D as well?
"they have intelligent power control. The ecu needs to learn the new parameters based on your driving style etc. (like the autobox shift pattern)
Maybe try to disconnect both terminals from battery, wait 5 minutes, touch terminals together and then reconnect them to battery. This erases the ecu learned values."

yes definitely.
The autobox will be notchy at first and smooth out as time progress.
A flatspot on the 3.2 may be due to fatigued wastegate spring or faulty EGR system.
