Guys, dont forget that if the water pump is on its way out, it can also start whining....

Sometime back I suggested this might be the oil pump. Well in my case it wasn't. It was the oil filter which was an after market filter. Coincidently mentioned this to automatic gearbox mac who suggested use only dealer supplied oil filter. Did the change and whine a thing of the past ...
