The average consumption of my 3.2 DiD between Oct.-2008 and today is 12.3 liter/100km. Lowest ever, 9.9 L/100km when driving overland w/ cruise control and highest ever was 24 L/100 km in the Namib desert (guided trip).
It's quite a lot compared vs. our BMW 2.0 diesel (7.2 L/100 km) but the Pajero also has a far worst aerodynamic drag and 2 tons tara weight...the stop and go on my daily drive to work makes the huge consumption.

I have been driving my 2006 3.2 LWB now for about a month, and was also wondering about my consumption. On average I get 11,5l/100km. This is made up out of 70% town driving and 30% open road driving.
This seems to be on par to what you guys are getting.

My experience is that my 2005 DiD consumption improves on trips longer than 100km as the whole system is more on operating temperature
On my trip last week to Bloemfontein(from Cape Town) I average 10,5 lt/100km going up and 12Lt / 100km coming down as the wind was all the way from the front. This is on speedo cruise at 135km/h(GPS 128km/h)

Hi All.
I've now put about 5 tank fulls into the 2006 swb DiD and seem to be getting about 9.5 to 10 l/100km which blows me away considering that I previously had a couple of V8 Discoverys and a Prado KZ-TE. This from a couple of trips to Durban from Howick and some town driving.
