I had a similar problem w/ my oil pressure gauge...After it warmed up the needle would fluctuate wildly for 2 or 3 minutes & then stop.I installed a hydraulic gauge temporarily & it preformed normally , so I replaced the electronic sending unit & have had no more issues. Maybe this applies to your & if not...good luck resolving the issue.
