Hi Guys,
My 3.2 2003 paj is at it again! For the past few days I noticed that when the engine is at working temp, she starts hunting (that business of the rev counter going up and down when idling) but other than that she has been running fine.
On my way to work yesterday, all hell broke loose when while doing about 80KM/H, the sound just changed from that sweet cheeky pajero diesel roar to sounding like an old Isuzu diesel
(i drove one for 3 years and i loved it then
).
I felt a slight loss of power. looked for a safe place to stop. popped the hood and obviously i could not see any thing wrong
I drove around just like that for the rest of the morning. Later during the day i swapped the the injectors around. I was also thinking probably it could be some sticky valves so i gave each valve a few sharp taps (no technical reason for this), closed it up and started. The noise was still there and now it was like its firing only on two cylinders!
Did the exercise again and this time around she fired okay but was still sounding like my old ISUZU.
On my way to the office this morning, when she started she was back to normal (quite) then a KM or so down the road the noise came back for another KM and then it disappeared.
Stopped at the office, all seemed normal except for the hunting!
Anybody got an idea what she is Up this time around?
Note: She is about to spoil my christmas!
