Door Hinges
Hi

Currently I have a problem with my front doors, they don't fix when opened. what I mean by this is, is when I opened a door it can easily close again, like on a incline or even wind

does anyone know where I cant get parts to fix it

I drive a 2003 SWB 3.2 DID

Hi Chris,
I sit with the same problem, it feels like it has the notches, but does not sit in them.

It would be interesting to see what this would cost, otherwise, maybe look at the 'wear', you could probably
weld/build up the notches again, and get the part sprayed at a reasonable price.

Yes it looks likes its from wear and tear.

I will try and see if I can get a price and post it here

Mine are also quite "slap", and the door doesn't "lock" in the open positions like my platkar does.

I guess the jerk straps are under-designed for the heavier door. Pity. I am afraid that repairing (probably replacing with equally under-designed parts) is probably not going to be viable. So I'll live with it!

Please let us know if you find a price, though.

Thanks,
Anton

Hi Anton,

I think a 'fix' / replacement would be viable, the reason I say so is because If I look at the state of mine,
if I replace / repair, it might not lat me another 240,000 km / 14 years (current stats on Bismark) but even if it lasts another 5 years / 100,000 km, its well worth the trouble.

Theres nothing more irritating than a door that keeps on closing on you (or the wife (even more irritating))

Ned,

Makes sense - let's see the cost, though...
