No. Unless the suspension took a knock, or there is some failure present.

But the car should also give you good km on tyres. Once that doesn't happen, something is clearly wrong, and a new car can (shouldn't, but CAN) have a faulty- or incorrectly fitted component that may cause it to (i.a.) crabwalking.

Once something is wrong, you have to investigate all possibilities, and crabwalking will certainly point to one.

John,

Pajeros are extremely reliable and trouble free cars. Something is wrong with your car. One has to assume that your wife drives this Pajero like any previous car and those didn't suffer from brake and tyre problems.

I think a one in a million bad Pajero is exposing a poorly managed/trained/staffed workshop system. I would hate to put a ratio to bad vs good dealer workshops (any brand).

If I were in your position, I would assume that something is very wrong with the car. I would allow the workshop manager a reasonable opportunity to address the problem. If he shows signs of taking the route that suggest the disk wear is normal and the tyre wear is bad driving, then it would be time to involve the manufacturer followed by the media.

These "fights" are never pleasant and one always feels that it is very unfair to pay good money for somebody else's mistake/bad product.

Good luck and please keep us informed. Maybe somebody will come out of the woodwork that had a similar symptom identified and solved. Maybe take your problem to the 4x4Community forum for a broader audience.

Hi there,

have placed on 4x4 forum.
well had TWT check it out today as per request of tyre rep. They are shocked to say the least about wear. They checked all possible problems and found only one. the tyre itself. It has a temp grading of B, should be A for our climate. They are submiting it to rep and will post all replies here shortly.

Hope to have some resolution shortly.

Do they link the brake-wear to that as well?

"Yokohama Geolander G902"

So, are we talking about snow tyres?

How many Pajeros/SUVs have been fitted with those? Are they suffering the same wear problem?

How did they come into the country in the first place?

I would like to think that bad tyres shouldn't warp a brake disk, but one can never be too sure how the electronics would distribute the brake force if tyres are behaving strangely.

I guess so - especially with an odd pair in front?

worn suspension components can cause this as well.

\have a suspension place check out your TRE's, balljoints and bushes for wear/play.
Re: Poor wear on original tyres GLX LWB 2010
My Pajero came fitted with Geolanders as well and I managed less than 25000Km out of them. Subsequent sets have doen me 65000Km. Perhaps it's just the tyres and nothing more serious.
Re: Poor wear on original tyres GLX LWB 2010
Strange.... On my Colt, I had the discs skimmed on a regular basis :? but just under 100k Km on my Paj, not once yet. I had a Jetta once (out the box) that only gave me between 15 to 20000 Km on tires on the rear. The stealers said "it cant be", never found out what was wrong. Switched to Mitsubishi instead...

Regarding the fighting with the dealers. Its unpleasant as they tend to believe they have the upper hand and that us mere mortals need to accept their opinions.... Been there and still busy with that ;)

My tire wear / wheel alignment problems have come to an end:) My shocks were stuffed, the ring where the bush is presses in, the bush was no longer.... :(
