Re: Gen 3 Diff Slip???
Heya

Did he just check the diff oil or replace? The water stuff sits at the bottom, so you need open the drain plug to check that, not just check the level and consistency at the filler plug. You'll only really know if this was the problem if you change the oil, I found that checking doesn't reveal much (and if you check at the drain plug, you might as well replace).

Mitsu supposedly checked for me too. They still quoted me R20k to strip and check and in the end R100 worth of oil seemed to fix the problem.

Anyway, just a suggestion.

Re: Gen 3 Diff Slip???
Hi Skillie!

It would seem that my problem with my traction control (as mentioned in earlier post) is not the solution. My shudder has now returned  ! I'm planning to take it to Mitsubishi Tygervalley ASAP and I'm going to ask if I can take a mechanic out and demonstrate my problem. What else do you think I need to ask them(copied your list below)?

Check:

Drive shaft in, to see if it hadn't pulled out a bit
Side shafts
Diff Oil (replace!)
Took of the CV's and opened and checked
ABS sensors
Loosen and re-tension the whole suspension setup (suggestion from 4x4Community)

Any help appreciated!
Re: Gen 3 Diff Slip???
Hi there. I had my 3.2 Auto (2001) in for a major service 2 weeks ago. (They replaced all diff and gearbox oils).

Suddenly I noticed the same problem as described here. A strange shudder on pull away , more evident while turning.
I noticed numerous comments on changing oil. No this is exactly what I did and now I have this problem. Is there any special spec to the oil that should be used?

Any other advise on the problem?
