I have a 2008 Pajero GLS LWB and have been to Kaokoland (Vanzyls pass). I now have to decide whether to go for OME or EFS. Intuition tells me that it is not worth it, only 40 mm lift. The Pajero as it is, seems to have no problems
Any comments ?
Cannot comment on EFS.

Personally I believe that the monocogue body of the Gen 3 and Gen 4 is much safer at speed (ie on tar) than the old ladder frames (Gen 1 & Gen 2), but that they tend to loose clearance when loaded - so I would compromise some of that high speed safety by adding the 40mm lift.
More importantly, I would look at better under-body protection for vital (or just expensive) parts hidden there. There are some really attractive rocksliders and bashplate suggestions here on the forum. Also their "tupperware" bumpers tend to pick up damage quite easily, so steel bush-bumpers may be of great use for those that take their cars to more extreme conditions.
Frankly, if I had a Gen 4 it would break my heart to scratch it - let alone taking off those beautiful bumpers for hardy steel ones! But then, it IS horses for courses, as correctly stated by Darrell, and having been in Koakaland, clearly you have a horse for that course!
