My Paj is almost due for its 97500km service. I want to do it myself as the 90000km service at the stealers cost R8700 (including replacement of the front brake discs - R2300).

According to the service schedule that came with the vehicle the air cleaner filter is not replaced ever??? (They just indicate "C" for check, up until 97500km - the last service on the schedule). How often should this filter be replaced (in the real world where most of us actually live????)

Also, The schedule indicates that the diesel filter is only replaced every 60000km. Is this OK, or should i replace it more often

What else do you suggest should be replaced, check or lubed during this 97500km service???

All oils were replaced from the front bumper to the rear bumber during the 90000km service, so I guess I'll only have to change the engine oil now. I've already bought Delo 400 for that and still need to get the oil filter.

2x cans of delo 400
1x diesel filter from the dealer - usually cheapest anyway
1x oil filter from dealer - usually cheapest as well
1x air filter - usually cheapest from dealer again

I would change air filter every 2nd or 3rd service - depending on condition
I would change diesel filter every 3rd service or with next service if I have filled at dodgy service stations

I wish I had the money for a relocation kit for the Di-D's oil filter location. Having seen the polo's and merc's cartridge system, I can't believe it isn't more of a mainstream design in vehicles.

i bought a oil filter on Saterday for R88 inc of VAT at dealers. (Midas R137)
Air filter was R251 VAT inc (Midas R245) and diesel filter is R296 VAT Inc

Thats for the 2001 DiD

Thats what the stealers quoted me today, so I guess I'll buy from them.

I checked the invoice of the last service and it seems all filters were replaced, so I only need to replace oil filter now.
