Hi All
I followed a link on our site to import Japanese vehicles thru "Valley Hill" (Based in Japan and States). What astounded me was that they have a 1997 Pajero Challenger X (similar to our recently introduced Pajero Sport) with low mileage for the equivalent of $1700 or R12000. No idea what the import duty will be. But even at 100% mark up. Why are we allowing ourselves to be ripped off locally? Has anyone done this? How safe is it? Please advise? Regards

Hi Blister
I have imported a 4x4 from the UK a couple of years ago(14)
South Africa will not issue an import permet for a 2nd han car. I obtained one through Lesotho and there were a loop hole importing from lesotho at the time
There is a shop in Windhoek that imports and you can buy from but you have to register it in Namibie

Thanks for that. Pity the "system" protect the market and poor us being the "losers". Maybe Simon should rather remove the link as its hurting to see the extend that we are being "ripped off".Eish!!!
