Hell that's cheap!!!

Hypothetical question, if my 3.5 blew up - what would that Lexus conversion cost to install?

Currently Mitsh. box in vechile. The one with the leaking red stuff.

Garage floor one off Lexus auto box.

The same bellhousing fit both but i believe i need mod on output shaft to transfere case. Will know when i strip. Looking from outside both appear to be the same. That is all over same plugs and wires and stuff as well as the same casting numbers.

P.S the input shaft is off same diameter and length but differant splines so that explain Mitsh. torque converter that is also slightly suspect

I wouldn't do it if I can't do most of the work myself. The stuff that scares me is

Aftermarket engine management
Engine and gearbox mountings
Propshaft and side shaft matings etc.
Gearbox transfer case marriage.

Re: A very sad day at side of road:
Simon. That is a difficult one to say.

Depend how much work you do self and how much to farm out.

I would say about R 38 000-00 if you farm all out, the guys dont like to do it a lot of work to the front end,
re: new radiator
all other bits need to move
nightmare of wiring

you get the picture, but do it yourself with a bit of help and plenty of cold and warm ones.

I would say 15 000- 18 000

Re: A very sad day at side of road:
Engine mounting took me a day on high lift jack and plenty of swearing due to welding.
Gearbox and transfere mounts remain as they are no mods.
Bell Housing to Lexus motor no problem. Remove Lexus gearbox bell housing and bolt to pajero box. no mod.
Check spacing and weld blocks to torque converter to suite lexus flex plate no big one.
Spittronics fit easy with all info provided. not big problem Sat & Sun
Only problem extra 3 sensor plate on crank and pAJERO CRANK PICK UP
Some extra temp sensors for gearbox controller Mitsh. and mount extra throtle sensor to tell on board that motor is running and on temp for gear change.

I still run my OEM computer with the Spittronics EMU

Jaco,
I also have Blister Fender and have done a lot of work recently on the car. Oil pump? :( Maybe I should have look see at mine once the heads are back on and the motor running again.
Good luck with your damage there.
