I had an oil change with the 90k km service, but since then the box has become progressively worse. The pull-off is jerky when I release the brake while the car is idling. It gets worse as the box heats up. I asked the mechanic to check the g/b oil level at 97500km and all was fine. Must I change oil again or could it be something else?
Hoffie, it is very likely that the oil is the culprit if it started at the time of the oil change. The Gen 3 box is quite particular about the oil that is used in it. Oil is definitely not just oil and this is a sophisticated transmission that simply works best when running on the oil used to develop it. I buy the Mitsubishi DiaQueen ATF SP III automatic tranmission fluid from the agents. It is not really super expensive when compared to other options.
Do you know what type of oil your mechanic used? Was the work done by the agents?
It is quite possible that another oil change (using the Mitsu oil) could sort the issue out. Besides it is a lot cheaper than any other option. I would give it a bash.
The Mitsu part number for a 4 liter can (yes 4 liters and just about all of the writing on the can is in Japanese...) of the oil is 4024610 and you will need three of them to perform the proper flushing procedure needed when changing the oil.

Thanks Gerrit. The agents did all the services and should have used the Mitsu oil. I will take it back and and let them have a look at it.
