My Preference would be for Waterval followed by Marcuskraal. Camping would be great. Failing all of the above a day outing will do
I second this. Could easily go on a Saturday and return on the Sunday for those that cannot leave on the Friday.Blister wrote:My Preference would be for Waterval followed by Marcuskraal. Camping would be great. Failing all of the above a day outing will do
There is two places to camp, the main camp is on grass with electricity available and the so called bush camp is secluded with no electricity and your have one ablution block (2 * toilet and 2 *showers) for everyone. We camped there in September and it was quite enjoyable but I will not use it during winter.

Hi Guys,
Porterville looks / sounds cool,
Is there a 4x4 trail we'll be able to do?
As I see on Camp S.A. there is no mention of 4x4 trails

There is a trail on the farm itself and another one about 30 km away. It looks as if there is not to much interest though

Ja, I know,
I'm getting stonewalled by my wife as well at the moment (unless there are chalets) she does not want to go Camping
in the winter
I'm wondering f this is not what creating most of the dis-interest.

Well Swambo is forcing her hand in this one.
If no one wants to go camping lets join the other crowd - https://www.4x4community.co.za/forum/sh ... hp?t=85468
Suppose I'll have to tell her they are full and we will have to go on the waiting list

Ag man, we gotta do something,
Even if its just a day event / outing, I'm starting to get some seriaaas withdrawal symptoms,
although, Porterville & Area seems a bit far for a day outing.
We need somewhere we can do a toertjie for few hours, and then braai

A day event will be great! Unfortunately we're away until 19 June, but if it is later, it would be great. There is a great course near Villiersdorp - KLIPBOKKOP. They have a sand track and a mountain track - both great. Maybe it is far, but lets consider. Then there is DAMON - at Worcester - not demanding, but nice views. Then DU KLOOF, but I think that one is still closedMcnoogle wrote:Ag man, we gotta do something,

Otherwise we must maybe do Ou Trekpad or Atlantis Dunes again...

1. Date is 25 June 2011
2. Options for a daytrip:
Ou Trekpad - Doing it on the 16th so I would not do it again a week later (utter boredom would set in)
Babylonstoren - I have never doen this trail and would could all braai at my place afterwards
Rawsonville/Worcester trails - Du Kloof is closed, anything else will do. It does not have to be that challenging
Villiersdorp - Klipbokkop, Kroonland, Stetyn
3. Who wants do do something:
Johann (JBeeZ)
I'll start a list in the 1st post if there is enough interest
