Since reading a similar thread on an overseas forum I decided to investigate further. The horn refered to in the article was this baby made by Stebel, an Italian company. http://www.stebel.it/stebel2009/product ... gia=pickup . From a quick search on the froum it seemed that these items are also available in SA but mostly for the bikers. MIDAS however seem to have a good similar type thing on stock. So when I went to buy my oil for the next service I had a good look. They had one that looks very similar, only red plastics where the Stebel is black, on hand for R170 and I decided to give it a go. The horn has its own little air compressor and should be a bit more asertive.

I did the instalation by removing the front grill and mounted the new horn where the one tiny one was mounted before.
I did the instalation as noted on the box routing 12v power through a relay, which was provided in the box, but in hindsight a straight plug and play with only a earth wire added from somewhere on the body should also work as the horn wire on the Pajero is already on a relay by the sounds of it.
Took me about 1.5 hours as I strugled a bit with the relay mounting, but all in all I am HUGELY impressed. I left the one original one in and the pair sounds much more satisfying. Can't wait for the next Taxi to try and cut in front of me!
