Re: 2001 3.2 Di-D EGR Removal
I did check out the site but still not sure what influance it will have on my turbo.

i used a 2mm mildsteel to block off on the exhaust ,going to replace today with 8mm today dut think the thin one will be enough on the inlet

It doesn't aid the turbo. It aids in keeping the intake clean.

Re: 2001 3.2 Di-D EGR Removal
so do you think if I remove my EGR it will help prevent the issue I had recently when my air intake gunked up past the EGR and seemingly led to the cracking of piston 1 in my 3.2 Di-D?

Are there any dangers to the engine associated with blanking off the EGR?

Re: 2001 3.2 Di-D EGR Removal
Deleting the egr will definitely reduce gunk formation but NOT reverse the effects.

Theoretically the EGT's also go up marginally but not at full throttle (EGR is not used at full throttle)

So it is to the user beneficial in full. The only downside is extra NOx gasses emited to the atmosphere and failed emission tests in strict laws overseas.

Ok thanks will have this done now. :D
Re: 2001 3.2 Di-D EGR Removal
I am considering a EGR blank of, but I am still unsure how and where it should be done. I am also concerned about he effect - reading a lot of opposing views.
Also why are some people drilling holes? see http://www2.pajeroclub.com.au/forum/sho ... 727&page=2

I am also unclear if the pipe with the yellow arrow and the "box" with the yellow arrow should be removed. It look like the part with the yellow orange arrow is attached to the watersystem piping?

Good Day all,
I have just blanked off my EGR system. A question, is there a way of cleaning the Intake system without removing it and manually cleaning it? (Maybe a spray etc) What would you recommend regarding diverting the crank case breather from the turbo inlet?
Enjoy

Re: 2001 3.2 Di-D EGR Removal
I am attemting to remove the EGT assembly, but the bolts on the exhaust side is extremely tight. How does one prevent turning the head off the bolts ? I saw elsewhere on the forum that the heads tend to round easily, does that mean the bolts are relatively soft and prone to breaking too.
What precautions do I need to take to prevent rounding or breaking?
