The shuddering and rocking effect is very prominently from the front - I can feel the shuddering on the steering wheel also, so my guess it is the problem area.
Just spoke to Powerbrake and they quoted me R2491-00 VAT incl for a set of high performance disks and pads + R200 courier costs. Leon reckons on the 3.2DID they sometimes find that the back brakes also cause some problems, but 90% it is the front disks. They sound like they know what they are talking about and also professional.
Powerbrake does not supply the rear brake disks & pads and recommend that you buy them from the dealers.
