I am not a Pejero drive...yet :)
But hope to soon be one.
I am in the market for one. So if anyone know of something in Durban area - shout :)

I'm looking for an old Gen 2 or Gen 2.5 model.
Becauce of the age (and subsequint high milage) I'd rather go for a petrol than a diesel unless you guys can convince me otherwise.

The 3L seems a bit flou so I am looking for a 3.5 - with SOHC as 1st and DOHC as 2nd price.

Also saw a 2.8D "import spec" with only 133K on the clock - not sure what to think of it.

Cheers
Pierre

Re: Hi all
hallo and welcome!

What's our budget?

If you look at our top guns thread you will learn that high mileage has a different meaning in pajeros.

Re: Hi all
Pierre,

Welcome.

Hope you find your Pajero soon! You should be able to get a 98-2000 model 3.5 with under 200K km for about R90K.

The import spec is nice - just make sure everything works! The 2.8 is a good engine.

I'm not sure that you'll find a SOHC 3.5 in the Gen 2 / 2.5. At least not in the SA models. But the DOHC is great, except for the noisy lifters... And there is a solution for that - Delo 400, and if that doesn't work, there are a new spec lifter that is quiet (and not that expensive, if done along with other work, such as a cambelt).

Hi Pierre

Welcome to the Pajero fraternity.
I wish you loads of fun and many trouble free km's in a "real" quality, affordable work-horse. 8-) 8-)

Ask anyone on the forum :D :D
