The Pajero's rear brakes became noisy in the week so I bought new disk pads from the local spare shop yesterday. When I wanted to fit them yesterday afternoon, I noticed they were totally wrong - just my luck! The shop was already closed, so I had to go back this morning - with the old ones as samples. Nothing in the book under Pajero looked closely like the samples. Next shop the same and also the third. I thought I would try one more time before I give up and went to our local Midas. Young black lady behind the counter looked at me funny when she opened her Ferrodo book and I told her it was not is there! Making sure I was not confused - duh... - She asked the model again and again told her that it is a 2007 3.2 DId LWB - Gen4 - to be specific. She checked again and nothing. She then started to page though the book - from the back - comparing everything that just slightly resembles the sample I gave her. I sort of appreciated her effort but thought it was a waist of time and was just about ready to politely thank her and leave when she found the correct shape and size.
Of course I immediately wanted to know why neither she or the chaps at the other stores could find it, she replied with a smile - “ because its under TOYOTA – it for the LC 4.2 and some Lexus. I was too shock to say anything – except to thank her for her great effort. At least – the Pajero is going again!
I now would like to know – is this right or did the previous owner change it? Anybody else had this?
