Various about gen 3 lwb did paj
Hi all. I bought the Pajero from a bloke in KZN. not knowing a lot about the Pajero. drove it back to Polokwane. Average feul consumption was round 9 km/lt.
Had a trip down to J/Bay with a trailer and the feul came down to 7 km/lt.
Accepted it, as it was a big trailer.
Every now and then, a knock was heard from the back , but nothing to "worry" about. Took the Pajero in to Humansdorp Merc dealers for oil etc and asked them to look at the tow bar.
The bottom two nuts, one on each side was loose. All was repaired. Currently the towbar is loose again. Currently i am constucting brackets to fasten the towbar.
I do have some questions on some misterious faults.
1) My speedo cable goes up in scales of 20 and hooks when i slack off. What must i look for.
2) My abs and brakelights stay on even after it was reset by a dealer. I cleaned the sensors, before the reset was done. Where do i look now.
3) When hooking my 4x4, the lights in the display come on. Are there a defenite change in traction when driving.( meaning that the gear ratio is closer espesially in low range) The diff lock also does not seem to engage.
Please help.

Wannies,
I am no DiD specialist but the abs gets messages from wheel speed sensors. You might have a look at the rotors at back of the discs .It is those round plates with holes in and the speed sensor reads those gaps for one.
When you cleaned the sensors I hope you did not use any rough material to clean them such as steelwool or the likes it will most defenitely damage them.
Check the earthing from abs pump .
The speedo works from gearbox via a sensor and that be stuck or faulty(speaking under correction as my Blister works like that)

Wannies,

Welcome to the forum!
Your Pajero seems to need a bit of TLC, and I am sure there are many here who will be to eager to assist.

It is virtually impossible to maintain a thread which addresses different issues.
If you still need assistance with any problems, please start new threads - one subject (problem) per thread.

I am still new to this, and have ten thumbs when it comes to computers.
I am busy with the TLC process. Various other small problems have already been sorted. The Paj was in not so a good shape when i got her. I am also doing the suspention. Ordered a OME complete kit for front and back. this will be here hopefully nextweek. also replaced both headlights and put in the HID Xenon kit. Quite expensive . So , the time is not always there to see to things.

greetings Wannies
