Mitsu Brooklyn Service
Pajero went for 20 000km service on Thursday. Like with the 10 000km service and the once it has been back because the electric motor for the adjusment of the driver seat broke, i was very happy with the reception and the way i was treated. I like the way that a specific service advisor is assigned to the vehicle for the long run, she (Samantha), meets you in the workshop, discusses everything with you and just makes one feel important. She new everything that had to be worked on, and also offered to have the alignment and tyre rotation done, which i declined, because i wanted to have it done myself at my local TWT after the service. I was very surprised that to hear that the maintenance contract covered this and it is done by themselves in the workshop, so had that done as well.

The electric motor for the seat was fixed the last time i took it in (at about 15 000km) and a new one ordered as well as a rear safety belt that has developed a kink in it (probably from the car seat). A new seatbelt was ordered, no questions asked. The scary part was that they phoned us when the parts arrived to tell us to bring the vehicle in for the replacements whenever it was convinient, but we left it to be done at the 20 00km service.

The only gripe is that the dealership is situated at an awful place (Brooklyn circle) and with the roadworks in the city and big accident at Atterbury on the N1, i was stuck in traffic for almost an hour to get there. Wish they would move to a more central location.

Hope this post is in the correct place

Re: Mitsu Brooklyn Service
Glad to hear that there is at least one dealership that gives good service even if they are in a yucky place. I would rather have good service and complain about position than have a brilliant position with bad service

Re: Mitsu Brooklyn Service
I cannot complain about the service I have received form Midrand Mitsubishi. I must say though, that they have realised that they cannot <censored> me and that I do check up on them ;)
This is probably due to my Colt having died a day after they serviced the vehicle, but thats water under the bridge and I wont wake sleeping dogs :|

Samantha used to be there... She still got short hair? (if its the same lady?)

Re: Mitsu Brooklyn Service
Samantha is also my Service Advisor, and has gone out of her way to assist me EVERYTIME. She even helped me when I was in Africa touring from the Serengeti, and got aproval for servicing in Lusaka. And she always smiles......

Re: Mitsu Brooklyn Service
Yes Samantha does always smile, and she even got back to me as i asked with the price of wheelnuts (bought a couple for the toolbox), might be the same lady as in Midrand. We bought the vehicle through Midrand, and ended up with a totally inexperienced affirmative type salesman that promised the vehicle within 5 days, delivered. Two weeks later, and having "lost" the vehicle a couple of times in transit, hubbie did his nut and starting sending very nasty e-mails. Eventually Jan de Waal, (think he was the branch manager) took over and explained that the vehicle had to be cleared out of bondstore in PE, then on truck to JHB and again into bondstore at MBenz SA and that took time. But looking back, it was worth the wait :!: :D
Re: Mitsu Brooklyn Service
After losing my Owners Manual and not making an effort to replace it and a bill of R 5800-00 for my 135000km service, I'm not so sure that these guys will see me again :x :x

They 'lost' my service book aswell. I phoned Samantha and she asked if I could drive past the dealership so that she can check herself if the book was missing. I immediately jumped in my vehicle, stopped at the dealership and demanded my service book! Samantha calmly walked with me to my vehicle (smiling, but not in an  way), opened the cubby and took the 'missing' service book out. If I did not walk with her from her desk to my vehicle, I would have sworn that she had the book hidden under her jacket. I felt like a real jackass

Re: Mitsu Brooklyn Service
He he! I also lost some decals like that, and was sure the wash bay lost them. She also walked me to my car, and pulled them out of the seatcover pouches behind my seats...Ooops! Embarrasing.

Re the manual, I give it to the service advisor on arrival, ensure it is stamped and place it back in my larny pouch in the cubby. Then it is never their problem, and I know it is safe and stamped (been caught there before by other manufacturer's service departments...

Nee wat, always a smile and good service...but will agree, servicing a vehicle ain't come cheap no more!

Re: Mitsu Service
After reading all what you guys say here I do not have any thing good to say about my local Mitsu Benz dealer as my experience is of such: Sorry your car is old and it will make our workshop look untidy. I have asked numerous times to have my vehicle in there to have some work done and as soon as they see it is a 1999 model they keep telling they are fully booked and have no space-week after week after week -going like that for two months now
I think they think they are too rich -man like  to work on old cars. Had a few discussions with guys I know in town and all had the same experience here. So now I must use other mech and places and most of it deliver porer than poor service as they prefer the easy way out or maybe it is the lack of knowledge here
