Hi all
I have recently bought a 2004 LWB GLS 3.8i. I am not new to the Paj, as I upgraded from a 1998 3.5 V6 LWB. I just love these vehicles, and cant see myself driving anything else.
I am new in Durban though. I live in Toti and work in Umhlanga, so I do the 96km round trip daily with the Paj. I am currently getting on average 7km/l on consumption (calculated at re-fill, not onboard display), and it pulls well. I get this consumption regardless of my average speed on a tank. 110km/h or 140km/h...same consumption. I must add this is purely highway driving.
The vehicle has 120 000km on the clock with a full service history. What I would like to know is where can I take it (between Toti and Umhlanga) to have a major service and tune up done on it, and what am I in for in $.
I would also like to have an idea of the minimum that should be done on this service.
I am planning a trip up to Vilancoulos early next year, and would love to start getting my house in order. Since I drive almost a 100k's a day, it would also just give me some more peace of mind if everything has been checked out.
Looking forward to hear from you.
Unfortunately the dealers range from shocking (Pinetown) to mediocre (Umhlanga) and both are expensive. There is supposed to be a Mitsubishi specialist somewhere in Springfield Park area -
I-Africa MOtors or something. Apparently the owner was the workshop manager at Mits before...???
I've used an independent place in Pinetown called Garway and will be taking my Pajero there from its next service as my motorplan is now finished.
Let us know what you do and how the service is wherever you go...
Cheers
Bruce
