Replacing roof lining
Has anyone replaced their roof lining? Mine has started to sag at the back and be tried this special glue which they use for sewing free seams but it hasn't held.

If you have has it done at what cost? It looks like it's glued to a moulded backing so may not be a trivial task.

I'm also thinking a roof console mod might be a worthwhile project to do at the same time.

Hi Simon

Have not done the Pajero yet, but have done the platkar before and it has the same roof lining material and concept. Getting the original material glued back to the backing baord is very trick and easier to just replace with new material of your choice. Use the "plybond" in a spray can, as it delivers an even glue surface. Normal glueing rules apply and a LOT of patience/beer.

Hope this helps and at you get itright.

The material hasn't come away from the backing. It's the backing that has come away from the roof in the rear section. It is held with some metal rail and glued in place

As far as I am concerned, this is one for the professionals.
Take it to your local re-upholsterer for a quote. They are usually cheap.

Simon,

I agree with Gerhard.

Try McCarthy's Auto Trimmers (Workshop Recommendations).

They are good, and they come to you (mobile workshop).
