Recently, after a bumpy ride, my 1996 Pajero 3.5 V6 LWB sounded more like a V8. After inspection it was clear that the bracket from the back silencer (original silencer!) was broken and that at both silencers, the pipes at both sides were loose. I took it to an exhaust dealership and both silencers were replaced with Bosal silencers. After the replacement there is a definite increase in V6 rumble. I took the vehicle to another dealer to confirm that the correct replacements were fitted, which seems to be the case. The replacements are: Back silencer: Bosal 244-290 and front silencer: Bosal 244-002 (which according to the book is not 100% correct but suitable). The back silencer is a bit smaller than the original silencer and there is no protective plate fitted as with the original. Can anyone comment on these replacements?
Why not fit a free flow? I have one in 3.5 not noisy at all just a nice "rumble"
It actually sound like a V6 now
