Dear Simon
Thanks for the informative guides. I used them over the weekend to have a go at changing pads myself. Only one problem, it seems that on my vehicle, only the bottom bolt on each of the calipers has ever been loosened. The removal of this bolt allows for the caliper to be pivotted on the top bolt, away from the disc, allowing for the pads to be removed and replaced. I tried to loosen the top bolts to remove the caliper completely, but these were impossibly tight and I was unable to budge them without risking rounding of the head. I changed the pads anyway and lubricated the tight bolts so that perhaps when it comes time to change again, they might have freed up.
Interesting to know if anyone else has had a similar experience or might be able to offer some advice on solving this problem.
Rgds
Malcolm
