I just wanted to make people aware of the service costs that should be expected from Mitsubishi Dealerships.
I recently had a oil change service (in-between service on DiD) at a different Mitsubishi dealership, and they charged me double the normal labour cost! So I complained, and they refunded my approximately R600. So please check your service costs, and query any issues.
The different dealerships can have different hourly labour rates, but in general, they should be about R550 to R560 per hour.
A basic oil change service should be as follows (with no extra work):
- Labour (0.9 to 1 hour) = R560
- Oil = R400 to R550
- Oil filter = R80
- Sundries (cleaning agents, sump plug washer, etc, etc) = R100
- TOTAL = R1290
- TOTAL (with VAT) = R1470
There is not reason that it should be more than this, unless they did other work. It could be as low as R1100. I often pay around R1200.
Please note, that this is at the Mitsubishi dealerships... independent mechanics will probably be less.
