Re: 3.2 DiD 2003 Gen3 NP Auto centre diff flashing light
Hello Gentlemen!
I am new to this site obviously, and only stumbled across it by accident. This is the closest I can find in my trials of researching issues associated with Pajero Transmissions light flashing.
I have 2004 Exceed 3.8 ltr petrol, auto transmission. Like yourselves I am now experiencing the Centre Transfer case light flashing after about 20 to 30 Klm's. I have had it to mitsubishi and they are unable to Diagnose, No Fault codes.
I have had it to my local mechanic and he has cleaned the connections to the module at the Transfer case and still no success.
If anyone can give me a heads up on what to do or have had any success with rectifying the problem I would be very appreciative.
Cheers,
Bob

Re: 3.2 DiD 2003 Gen3 NP Auto centre diff flashing light
Hello Boblyn,

I own the same pajero and I had the same problem while ago, let me tell you what I did, my problem was just that the shaft that moves to select the 2x or 4x (near the diff at the front) was stucked somehow, I just pulled out the 2 hoses that comes from the solenoids and move the shaft by hand, I claean it very well and now I have not the flashing light again, Another thing I did was to clean the conectors at the solenoids, check with the volmeter the 12 volts on each solenoid, If I am not mistaken, if you select 2x the 12 volts should be present at the brown conector and the black one should read 0, and if you select 4x then the 12 volts should be the opposite. Another thing you can take a look at its any possible leak, this will cause the shaft not to move correctly. I hope this information helps a bit. One tip, if you are not able to do this, you can always select 4x and the light should be gone until you fix it.

If you need pics let me know and send me an email: dhisra@hotmail.com

Cheers and good luck.

Re: 3.2 DiD 2003 Gen3 NP Auto centre diff flashing light
hi Boblyn,

My mistake, the 12 volts on the solenoids are a bridge, I check them with my volmeter and both have 12 volts at the same time, mybe it is wrong, I am not sure, but that is the reading on my pajero.
