Firstly, welcome here!
All 4x4's are heavy, and usually shaped like a brick - rendering them heavy on fuel - especially the petrol models.
Search on the forum - fuel consumption is a heavily discussed topic here. The bottom line: "normal" depends heavily on the weight of the driver's right foot, but normal highway driving should get you around 7 litres / 100 km, and suburban driving can go as low as 5. Loaded and off-road can use 20-30% more fuel - again, depending on how you drive.
If your consumption is higher than that, you may need to read up further - there are guys here with a wealth of knowledge and an urge to share it - but hey need deltails to understand your problem - give them detail like consumption figures and driving conditions.
