Its sitting on my desk. All +350 pages of it.
No where does this otherwise comprehensive book explain to the owner when and how to top up auto transmision fluid.
So I called the dealers and was informed that (the topping up) is a 'dealer only' function.
Hmm I hope we never have the need.
If the dealer can do it, so can you.
Most Mitsus have the auto box filler & dipstick (same thing) on the driver's side, while the Di-D's sump dipstick is on the co-driver's side (assuming RHD vehicle).
SWAMBO's Merc has the same garbage in the manual, concerning power steering fluid.
I took off the fancy plastic engine decorative cover and what do I find? A dead standard power steering pump with reservoir on top!

For what it's worth
My boss' auto box dipstick is on the passenger side.
He drives a Gen3 3.8 GLS auto SWB

Sorry for any confusion caused here.
My rant was merely because nothing is mentioned in the manual about checking problems and warnings...
But knowing that the dip stick tube serves as a filler too is more than helpfull..
So its not the small purple bottle one right in front? Only kidding... Hey Its Friday.
