Has anyone had experience with removing a door panel in order to access the window mechanism ? I would appreciate any tips before going ahead blindly.

You need to register on the Pajeroclub of Victoria (Australia)website as a member to view the pics in the thread attached but it is well worth it. The post relates to changing front speakers, but the procedure for the front door panels are the same.
Pajero Gen3 door panel removal
The tricky part is the covers around the inner door release handles as they break the clips if not done properly. Ask me, I know as I have a broken set in my garage
which I had to replace with new ones.

Hi CATS,
Thanks for the link.
I started to strip the drivers door to sort out my electric window (using Gen3 workshop manual Ch42 pages 19, 20 & 24) & stumbled across the very problem that you mention re the door handle trim.
So I baled and came back to the forum - found your helpful post. Have to wait for another couple of free hours to tackle again.
The one thing they don't mention in the link, so I will record it for posterity: If you have a courtesy light at bottom of door, pop off the red lens, remove the holder (two screws) and disconnect wiring to light.
