Guys,
Can you please try this as suggested by the Service manual...
The stall test, the way I understand it, is that the motor must stall ( die )..
My engine just go to 2700rpm, as stay there revving to 2700rpm.
Please let me know what is you findings?

I can't copy from the Service Manual so I made a screenshot...
I think that "stall" in that instance means "limit", as in the vehicle must not rev higher than the quoted amounts.
My interpretation.

Nico
did mine a while ago as part of my economy fault finding.
my diesel goes to 2400-2500rpm.
NB : Note the max 8 second max and cool down time. This test is extremely hard on the oil and engine/gearbox mountings!

Thanks guys....
4ePikanini, I think we are on the same mission....lol.
I've done the de-cat, checked valve clearances, removed the fan thingy in intake, install NEW injectors.
Dont know what else to do.... I think only thing left is maybe a Dastek chip. But that will have to wait till I have money again ib some time.
Have you read about the other thread about A/T slipping.... Some supply valve or something was replaced.

what is your current consumption?
some overseas forums replace the valve body with an uprated one for the heavy towers. It supposedly helps with smoother shifts and is generally stronger.
if your stall rate is border line I would suggest changing the fluid out. Remember to use the Dia Queen from Mitsu.

My consumption is about 14.5 and 15l/100km with no towing and I only have a towbar thats extra.
I will try the fluid change.... Is it big work to do, or can I do it myself?
