Old man EMU suspension question
'lo

I'm considering to buy a Pajero. The ad states it has an "Old Man EMU" suspension, so my expectation is to see some yellowish couloured shocks/springs etc.

I was rather dissapointed that these visible markings I could not identify when I inspected the vehicle this afternoon.

So my question, as a novice, is how does one identify if an Old man EMU suspension is installed?

Thanks
Re: Old man EMU suspension question
What model Pajero are you looking at?

On the Gen 3 and 4 OME has yellow shocks and black coils front and rear. There should be a number stamped on the coil or a piece of sticker somewhere that identify it as soft, medium or heavy duty variety as well. Shocks should have stickers on that has an EMU bird running along and Old Man Emu printed on as well.

It might be that it was all sprayed black somewhere in its life by an overeager mechanic or second hand garage to make it look 'new' but the above is how it should look in standard trim(well on mine it looked like that in any case.

Its a 3500 GLS, 1998. A private sale.

I tried to check the suspension out, and it all seemed to be rather ordinary. It seems to me to be a standard type of suspension 'cause its all painted in black.

Good tip though about the number, I try to see if I can find something like that. I guess, I can ask the owner straight out aswell

I would suggest the if you find that in fact it is NOT OME suspension that you get the seller to install OME at his cost, as it is misleading advertising.
