I recently purchased a Gen 3 Mitsubishi GLS 3.5 SWB, 2001 model. Even though it is little old, i got a really good deal.

The first thing i want to do, is upgrade the interior a little. Does anyone know if I am able to replace the RV in dash display with a newer version (The new Gen 4 display) or another after market display with the same information displayed as the old one. (I like the fuel consumption info, tells me if i need to slow down ) I am already going to replace the radio with a double din DVD player, and just move the AC controls to the lower bracket.

The next step will then be to replace the speedometer and rev meter gauges' background. (It currently has a maroon gauge background, which just doesn't look)Does anyone know if these backgrounds can be purchased from a Mitsubishi dealer, or where i can find any aftermarket customized gauge backgrounds?

The biggest problem with replacing the radio is that you no longer have the "Disp" button that operates the onboard computer. If not for that, I would have replaced mine as well.

The new Gen 4's have a Caska unit which you can buy from the PlanetWorld. Many owners have complained about the quality of the Caska unit and I don't know if it will work in a Gen 3.
