Sport Feed back
Our holiday now past its time to reflect on the overall performance of the Paj Sport and also raise some questions.
On road performance was awesome.
I was very impressed with the fuel consumption being mostly about 12/100 (indicated).Towing a small trailer and at speeds mostly over 120 (indicated.)
I expect consumption to improve.
But here is my query.
For a car to cost over R450 where is the auto self locking?
And why are the exterior mirror controlls not illuminated?-Hope these are software issues that can be solved.
Anyone have experience with these issues?
Re: Sport Feed back
If the Sport is like the Pajero both those issues are there to stay unfortunately. Obviously crime is not big in Japan.

You can try to enquire about the auto locking function at the dealers. In some Pajero models they were able to be set to lock on start up but this feature is not std on later models and you actually need to lock it yourself. It has become second nature for me living in Gauteng. You can go to some clever auto electrician/radio installation shop that might be able to hard wire it to always lock on start-up, but then you need to manually unlock it when you stop.

Re: Sport Feed back
I have no experience with the new models, but I checked "autolocking" for our 2004 Gen III model with various Mitsubishi dealers in JHB and at home in Germany. Unfortunately, it can't be programmed for the Gen III, that's what I was told by all of them.

@Cats: Active autolocking activation is not related to crime in other countries. For example, all BMW's since 2004 have this option but it's not activated in Germany due to some legal advices (doors closed in an accident, rescue can't access the car easily). So you have to ask your dealer in Germany to activate the feature during a maintenance....same applies in some other European countries. Our BMW's in RSA had it working from day 1....different countries - different setups for the same vehicles.

Re: Sport Feed back
Thanks for constructive feed back gents.
Firstly my error- car was R414 grand not R450.
But still I wonder if this is the only Jap brand without self lock doors at this price.
The agent did get back to me and confirmed the Vehicle can not be programed.Have to buy an aftermarket at R750.Also confirmed mirror controlls can not be
illuminated.
