Auto Box On 3.5 Blister Selecting reverse with a hump
Hi Guys,
I have a technical issue regarding 3.5 Blister Auto Box..
My gearbox changes smoothly when running hot or cold.
But what bothers me is when you select reverse it goes into revers with quite a "hump" if it can be called that- similar to when you try to put into gear with your foot on the petrol a bit.
Secondly when idling it sounds vaguely like a thrust bearing is a bit worn "but still it works perfect." Sounds like a gear just touching or something like that.

I have taken it out this weekend for some serious steep climbing and used all the different 4x4x modes and it crawled 2 very steep inclines "40 degrees on the Ball" with no serious noises or scratching of any kind, all gears selected smoothly and deselected the same way. Should I worry about anything here :?: Especially the reverse action is cumbersome :?:
Thanks

I would like to hear what the knowledgeable people have to say about this.

I have a similar problem on the GEN3. Only happens some times. I think it might have to do with the way the car was put into park. Handbrake first then park or park then handbrake. :?:

I make no claim re the knowledgeable part but I very rarely use handbrake and the very mechanical clunk happens to me when moving out of Park when I have had the paj parked on a slope.

I am not aware of the other noises pbp refers to - but then again I don't always hear swambo either.

Maybe someone who understands the mysteries of the autobox better will explain.
