Ticking Noise In Gearbox- Blister 3.5 Auto
Hi , I posted a while ago about some noise in the gearbox sounding like a light gear touch run.
So today I decided to add some oil - about a litre and gone is the noise :?: The cold oil mark is now just above the top mark. Is too much oil a problem :?:
Could it be that a valve or solenoid was rattling due to low oil or should I follow Maruis's advice and adjust the pressure a bit? I thought running a auto box with little oil is damaging but after reading the write up posted by Maruis it seems that is not the case. A quarter pint is not a lot of oil :?:

Re: Ticking Noise In Gearbox- Blister 3.5 Auto
Hi , well after my last post about the ticking problem. Some oil was added and it quiet for a short while and started again. So I decided to test a few things and it seems the problem is from the transfer side. I switched from 2H to 4H and then 4Lo and back whilst driving. Today the car did all of 80 km around town and no ticking noise so far.
It seems the transfer does not go out of 4H completely and need some gentle TLC to release completely. I do not hope this a sign of future trouble. :(
