Hi all
I am new on this forum, I am hoping to get some help here as I have been searching the net for the info, but no luck.
I have a 2001 Pajero 3.2 DID, SWB.
The flickers and hazards have stopped working.
The flicker unit sometimes makes a soft abnormal weak buzzing sound for a few seconds and then silent.
Where exactly does the flasher relay sit as the sound seems to come from inside the fuse holder under the dash ?
Hi Lunnmj
I have also being trying to find the flasher unit, but, to no avail. My right indicator is fine, but, when I indicate left, it sometimes activates. If it does not, and I put additional pressure on the lever, mine works, so I assume my problem is with the lever.
I was also looking for the flasher as its the least expensive solution attempt. All I can tell you is that it is on the right of the instrument cluster, but, does not seem like it comes from the fuse box area. I suspect that it may be behind the dashboard...

the flasher relay sits behind the fuse box underneath a blue cover.
I suspect the only way to get access is to remove dash panels in the area to gain access to remove the fuse box.
Not an easy job.

Hi All
I have found the flicker relay and there is 2 of them. One for left and one for right, so they are not my problem as both will not pack up at same time. They are in a blue box called the ETACS CSU. I have planned to modify mine with a normal flasher unit.

Yesterday I removed the indicator unit, which is quite an easy task. I took a chance and opened the actual unit. It is a very simple contact system inside, which I cleaned a bent the contacts slightly etc. We shall see if it works. See the attached pics.
It is a very simple operation to perform. Remove the 3 screws holding the black panels around the steering. Seperate them and see the clips (top and bottom)holding the indicator unit in place. Press inwards and pull the unit outwards. Once you have the unit out, remove the 2 screws and gently pry apart. When reassembling, push the white plastic part in and gently pair the halves, then put in screws and clip back onto the steering column.

A second hand unit from the scrap yard will set you back about R1000-R1500. Dunno the cost of a new one.
Well it is not my flasher lever unit as my hazards do not work either. I am first just checking to see if I have power on the correct pins of the ETACS (blue box). Then I will modify system to take a simple flasher unit.
Thank you
