Re: Gabriel launches HDP Shock Absorbers
I bought my 1996 3.5 about 18 months ago fitted with the Iron Man suspension, I was quite dissappointed in the handling of my Pajero cause it could make you seasick over 100 Km/h. Atfirst I could not keep the front wheels on the road if the surface was rough (our Mpumalanga tar roads!) So I fitted a set of Gabriel HDP's. What a pleasure!!

Just an long overdue update on my HDP rattle on the front axle saga.

After getting hold of the rep for the durbanville area, I went to her prefered workshop, supa quick in wellington road. Turns out both my front shock had siezed somehow... This is after replacing stabilizer links and bushes, upper ball joints, and going to DEKRA for a suspension test to rule out suspensuion issues. Dekra refused to charge me for the test as they could not find any play in my suspension....

I am sitting here waiting for the warrantee replacements, will revert once new one are in and have driven them for a day or two. Holding thumbs.

OK

Problem solved!!! Eventually Pedro has lost his irritating clunk when going over corrugations or bumps in the road.

I had a look at the shocks (only 8 months and 18k km on them very little on gravel or off-road), both were stuffed, left front more so. The left one where the noise had come from had "rough/tighter" section in the bore (did not push in smoothly) as you pushed them in, and at a certain point just dropped 25mm with no resistance with just my weight on it :o :o

Got my two new warrantee replacements in, unfortunately I had to pay for fitment and alignment - R 600-00. Otherwise I am a very happy chappy now, this had been SERIOUSLY been bugging me for months :) ...

Re: Gabriel launches HDP Shock Absorbers
I have just got a quote for a set and wheel alignment R 5295 .
Is the price ok? (Supa Quick)
Re: Gabriel launches HDP Shock Absorbers
I paid R 3480 odd just over a year ago for my set. Plus labour to fit set me back R 4560.

Much less PT to get the fitment centre to supply and fit, especially if you have warrentee comeback as I did.
