Hi All,
I took my vehicle ('06 GLX with 106K on clock) in to the Dealers. It has a "clink-Clink" sound from the rear.
I am told the CV joints are gone, and that I need to pay in the region of R14,000 for the job!
This is outrageous in my view and also unexpected as I expected them to last much longer.
Any advice? A CV join place (Don on this forum) quoted roughly R4000, with "alternate" parts.
What should I do...
Thanks All.

Thanks, I had a look at that post, and spoke to Don, he estimates R4000 for this job using pirate parts.
My concern is why they have failed at such a low mileage. Anyone else had this?
Thanks
Brett

In my experience I have found mitsu components to be really strong and hard.
The only way I see a CV get damaged on a Pajero is
by going through potholes or over curbs at ridiculous speeds with very hard tyres
or
the boot was torn letting dirt in
or
incorrect grease was used with previous CV work.

Hi There.
Many thanks for the reply!
Your opinion proved correct. The CV's are fine. I took it to Menlyn CV centre and they found my suspension bushes (rear diff etc) to be "kaput".
So, I am relieved, as this will be a smaller "hit"on the pocket.
I am really, really annoyed at the dealer though. Who was informed at last service to check the suspension, and when I took it to them, they told me the CV's were gone for sure.... Result - I will never go back to them.... (Brooklyn Mitsubishi).
Cheers

Imagine your annoyance after forking out R4k and the sound is still there?
