Many would agree that the biggest Problem with driving a Pajero in the sand dunes are the front fenders, which bend inwards after every contact and start rubbing at the tires.
Now I thought about trimming them off, to have it look like a 4runner or H3. Does anyone have experience with this? Where to trim? How to seal? Other car pats fitting in?
Thanks for your replies,
Jens

I know what you mean and have been thinking the same.
Them little black jobbies jutting out under the fenders, I've already lost on a trail somewhere....
My concern has always been once its cut, its cut. Im not sure what it will look like and if you are willing to be first, let us know with pics.

I will seriously consider it and keep you informed. Also I am thinking of adding a fuel tank in the rear (3rd row) compartment.
regarding the fuel in the rear, I remember a post on the Ozi forum that 4 10L containers fit nicely next to each other. Consider that too
Metahawk,
In spite of what some club members will say, a fuel tank in the place of the third row seats woks like a charm. Mine has been in use for a number of years and on many trips and is still delivering sterling service - without any leaks, spillage, problems etc. and it takes more than 100 ltrs of fuel.
Cloyd.

I'm not too fond of petrol smell in the car, so fuel tank is first choice. I have been told that with rear aircon you can only get 60L. I would love the 100L tank, though. Once I've seen a short wheel base with a drum tank just under the rear skirts, which also prevents them from bending outward ater getting too deep into the sand.
About fenders I am now thinking of an ARB bullbar that fits in indicators and the lower headlights. Looks like the fenders are trimmed and connected (somehow) with the bull bar.

Could you give some details please? Perhaps some pics as well? Sounds like the thing to do.cloyd wrote:Metahawk,

Hi!
2 x 20l steel jerry cans fit quite nicely in the 3rd row storage area. I did a 8000km trip like that without once having a fuel smell.not the best, but gets the job done cheaply. And still space for a towel, and a few spares, etc. The space is bigger than it looks. Ok I also have a drawer system on top to prevent a very dangerous flying object in the car, especially in the dunes.
Cheers
