Mitspro Warning Centurion PLEASE READ
Hi All,

It is with great regret that I have to unfortunately complain about the service and assistance I received from Freek Snr and Jnr.
Just like most of you I got Mitspro's details from this forum and I have had my car, Pajero iO 1999, serviced there in Marc. had the flashing light issues and it was resolved very quickly. I was extremely happy then and actually recommended them to a few people who have since then had their cars services at their shop.

Last week Monday the (3rd of December 2012), I got into my car and was unable to get my Pajero into gear. Eventually I had AA out, (Thank you VISA) to tow my car to Mitspro to have the clutch repaired or replaced, as I was/am leaving for Mozambique the 12th of December. I asked Freek Jnr to please just inform me what needs to be done and the cost associated as I need to look at the budget like most of us. After the two days, numerous phone calls and message and no one returning my calls I got hold of Freek Jnr. I was told my car is fixed and I can go and collect it, being a bit scared of what this would set me back I got a lift to the garage and went to fetch my car. The total cost R499 including, I was relieved and happy as this is not bad to get it fixed. I was told by Freek Jnr, it was some or other plug that perished and I had to be replaced. Its as good as new!

I left the shop and returned home, approx 100m before my complex's gate the clutch went again. I had to free the car to right in front of my garage and there it stood.
I phone Freek Jnr immediately( 15:45), I was told by Freek Snr that he went out to test drive a car and that he would phone me back as a matter of urgency. Satisfied with the response I waited. Night came and the did the next morning, still no call. I phoned again and got hold of Freek Jnr, I explained to him what happened. He told me that there is a older guy which is the driver, he went out and as soon as he is back he would come and assist me as he knew I had no other means of transport. Well needless to say that came and went, I eventully phoned again later that afternoon and was informed that he will get back to me. This cycle continued for the next 2 days and no one came to assist me. There were just excuses and excuses. I eventually decided to escalate this to Freek Snr on the Wednesday. He promised me that he would resolve it the same day, he ahs to go to Rustenburg and then Johannesburg and he would get back to me the same day. Well nothing happened, I phoned again on Thursday and was promised and told similar stories. Still I had no transport, so I decided to write them an email, seeing that they don't return calls and and told them they should rather refund me and I will take my car somewhere else. Friday morning I received a call from the receptionist asking if they could come in the next 20minutes. At that stage I was at the office once again with no transport and explained to her my situation and told her about the email. Once again I was told Freek will get back to me, and once again I waited to hear nothing, so this morning (10 December 2012) I phoned and asked about the refund. Once again I was told Freek will phone me, 6 hours later I phoned again and spoke to Freek. I asked him when I can expect my refund as this is unacceptable, he immediately started to blame shift and said that if I gave him the car when he asked he could have sorted it out, granted Freek, but you never returned calls or got back to me. What am I suppose to do? I was then told that, that the solution was a mere temporary fix, first I heard of this and can't remember that I asked for this, and travelling 3500 kms with temporary fix is not good enough. He then told me its was hard to get parts for the car, which I know all about, but NO COMMUNICATION, so I told him its fine. I will take it somewhere else, but please can you refund me my money. He told me that he wouldn't do that, and now he can't see what happened and what went wrong because I took it to another mechanic. " No Freek, I could take it to another mechanic as I can't drive my car, remember. I had to push it into the garage on Friday and there its been standing since now. Once again he said he will not refund me the money, I told him that I will be taking this to the forums, and every possible place to discredit them, I have also since laid a complaint at the ombudsman, the small claims court and will be in touch with the consumer protection guys. I asked if he really wanted me to go this route, and he said he doesn't care. Extremely arrogant! So I know this might be excessive especially for only R499, but I feel the principle is what matters. Customer Service, Integrity, Sticking to your promises and trying to look after customers. You never know when the wheel turns and you start begging for customers again.

Well this is my story.
I honestly wish that Freek Jnr or Snr can get the guts to admit that they are in the wrong and apologize and rather retain a customer as appose to being arrogant and nonchalant about this, but I know I have a bigger chance of falling pregnant!
Enjoy the holiday guys, I managed to source a Hilux now for my Moz trip to Inhambane.

Re: Pajero Workshop Recommendations
As far as Stealers go, I was pleasantly surprised with the service received at the parts area of Mitsubishi / Ford in George.

Plus I got some free advice from one of their mechanics on a EGR question :)

Was so nice to not get that "I'm milking you for each penny" feeling.
Re: Pajero Workshop Recommendations
And again... I've ranted about Mitsu midrand before, therefore I feel obliged to give the other side of the coin.

Seems like their doing a lot to fix up their PR...

I had a strange chirp coming from the car, and I needed a fix/answer asap before our botswana trip next week. I took it to the guys in Midrand - they gave me an ASX to drive around for the day (not a bad car at all!).

I signed the paper for a R500 odd 'investigation' fee... Knowing it was not any of the belts, and didnt seem to come from any of the typical bearings, I was afraid it might be torque converter / gearbox related. Thus I expected the worse...

Got a call 2 hours later - they found the problem - the exhaust was slightly bent (due to an incident in botswana last year), and one of the rubbers / mountings was causing the issue. They made the adjustment, and didnt even charge me!

So thumbs up to Mitsu Midrand! :)

Re: Pajero Workshop Recommendations
Have anyone had dealings with Mitsu Germiston. How will you rate their service ?
Re: Pajero Workshop Recommendations
Hi Guys.

I have gone through quite a number of the posts on this thread and am thoroughly dismayed at the moment. The Pajero I bought has a sketchy service record and would like to have a proper 150k service done, all fluids, filters, tensioners etc.

Based on the balance of positive and negative feedback on Mitspro it seems that they are highly capable, but overloaded. I have seen some positive feedback, and no negative feedback on Mitsubishi specialists in Boksburg. I stay in the Rosebank area and work in Kempton. Any suggestions would be highly appreciated. We currently have 3 vehicles which enables me to leave the vehicle at whomever for a couple of days.

PS. One week with the vehicle and I am smitten.

Re: Pajero Workshop Recommendations
Used Mitspro once for a major service. When I filled up for the first time after the service,(about a week)I had to Put in two pints of oil!
Also noticed that the engine cover was only held in by one screw, the others missing. When I called Mitspro I was told that it " was nie moontlik nie" . Won't use them again, however there are few options for us Pajero fans. Wish Mitsubishi would get their <censored> together!
