Rear fog ligh, hazard and rear a/c switches
All the dashboard lights on my 1996 3.5 Pajero are working 100% except the mentioned switches. All switches functions are working fine but no illumination when vehicle lights are swithed on. Rear fog light switch does light up when pressed (right side of switch- green bar). Hazard and rear a/c switches are working but no illumination in switch itself. None of these 3 switches are illuminated when vehicles lights are switched on. Do these switches have bulbs that need to burn when light are turned on? If so, can they be replaced? Only Rear dimister switch illuminates when vehicles lights are turned on.

I have the same problem with some of the switches on my gen3, so will be watching this thread for any info before I start taking things apart ;)

Anybody?

Same subject.

On my 2002 DiD there is no illumination in the hazard light.
The hazards work when the switch is pushed on and turn off when pressed again - i.e. the switch itself is functioning.

1. Is it correct that it should illuminate when the dash lights are on? (mine doesn't).
2. Is it correct that it does NOT flash when the hazards flash?

Any idea how to replace the globe? It seems like the switch has no user-serviceable parts.

Andrew,

Your hazard setup sounds about right to me. I'm pretty sure mine is like your's, but I'll check when I drive it in the dark again.

OK, answering my own post.
Deep inside the hazard light switch (which is theoretically not user-serviceable since the carrier has one mounting pin welded to the dash surround) is one of those tiny dashboard globes with the blue 1/4-turn holder.
I will replace the globe tomorrow.
