My Caska radio died on me and after having the Radio for close to two weeks Planet advised that it is not covered by vehicle guarantee and the systems guarantee is only 1 year. Has anyone had a similar experience? I want to take this up with Mitsubishi but do not want to start a fight someone else has already lost.
The estimated cost is R1600, which to me is ridiculous seeing that the radio itself is of inferior quality and the only reason I am not replacing it is because is was factory fitted and nothing else will fit.
I had my radio repaired through Mitsu and it is 2 years plus old. I suggest you work through Mitsu if your vehicle is still under guarantee.

Hi, I agree, if under waranty, take it up with Mitsubishi. The Australian alternative to Caska is Polaris GPS. It has radio, Dvd, rearview camera, tyre pressure monitoring and more and of course a GPS using Hema maps. They make purpose built units to suit Gen 3 / 4 pajero's dash. Check it out at http://www.polarisgps.com.au .
For R3500 you can import a japanese dvd unit with gps, bluetooth etc.
What exactly happened to yours?
What does the full maintenance plan cover on a Pajero then, surely the radio is a warranty item.Ask them to show you where it states 1 year

The touchscreen on my Casca type unit went dead. Anyone experienced the same and any remedies for this? The radio is till working but on manual, while the GPS unit is useless. I did a hard reset by pulling the fuse. Where can I find software for the unit to update it? I live 100km away from a stealer and do not go that way often.

Mine has also died on me a few times. Dealer showed me the trick on my 3rd visit. Take a paper clip, bend it straight and insert it into little reset hole on the bottom right hand side of the unit. Has worked for me everytime. Just remember to turn ignition on before pressing reset button. Button needs to be held in for 5s
