Hi
SWAMBO has been without her Pajero for 2 weeks wile the Indy has tested and tried and tested everything on the ABS system.
Final diagnosis - ABS Pump ±R23,000.
Any ideas where I can find one at a more affordable price? 2003 Pajero SWB 3.2.
I can't anymore.
Anyone want a Pajero without ABS.
See my post on the other forum... And yes I will take it

Had a similar issue last year. Call Part Hunt in PTA> I got one for R4500
Just make sure you get the right model. They all look similar. Good luck n keep us posted

As luck would have it I have a spare abs pump out of a 2000 get 2.5. If the part numbers are the same I'd be willing to let it go for 2k.

Hi Brennain
Indy working on the Pajero sent me this: Part No: MR977461151285 / 2E09382
Would be really great if you have the right one.

Sorry Deon, I really wish I could help! My part is MR289302. What are your symptoms? I also had he ecu and pump diagnosed as the issue, ordered this replacement unit, and the problem was fixed by replacing all wheel speed sensors in the interim. I got the sensors for $12 each compared to the R2000 each asked by dealers. This replacement pump works fine, in case anyone else is after one.

Symptoms were as follows:
ABS light went on and makes a terrible beep noise.
Brake pedal is very hard so unable to drive safely.
Off to an Indie who could plug it in and follow codes.
Right front ABS sensor faulty – replaced with 2nd hand unit
Fine for couple of K’s and then back again
Brake pedal sensor faulty – cleaned and replugged
Fine for couple of K’s and then back again
Left front ABS sensor faulty – Ja sure!!!
At this point the Indie starts getting really worried and chats to other indies and ABS specialist, they together come to the conclusion that it is the ABS pump/ ecu unit that is faulty.

Yip sounds like the pump. My light was just on permanently and the ecu wouldn't allow clearing of fault codes, every single available fault code came up. Keep looking around, you will find a good deal.

Should have updated here long ago.
Sorry guys.
Indie where I had the car stripped the pump and found loose wiring on the pump motor coil.
He sent it in and had the coil rewound - problem solved at a relatively cheap price.
