[HELP] Identify this component please
Hello fellows.

This is my first post on this board, but I'm not a novice, have done some extense research on the subject and found virtually no consistent answer. I'm owner of Facebook Group "Pajero TR4 Brasil" with over 2600 members, and I'm a proud owner of two Pajeros, a TR4 2.0 4G94 engine(brazilian version of IO) and recently acquired Pajero Sport 2005 2.8 TDI 4M40 engine.

After replacing the diesel filter I notice a little hose coming from a component that, based on its appearence, seemed to me a solenoid valve. Two hoses coming from it and one (lower) was loose. I could find a similar piece on ebay as a "Turbo Boost Vacuum Solenoid", but has no sucess on identifying such component on my Workshop Manuals.. Does anybody know this piece, what it does and where this little inferior hose should be connected?

Thanks in advance!

Real pic of the component. The filter on the upper left is a FRAM diesel filter, only for location pourposes. The inferior hose is loose....

and this is the piece I found that resembles my pic :?:

Mmmm. We only got the Pajero Sport in 2008 I think so the vehicle you have is not known here in SA. The engine I would imagine is a normal 4m40 diesel I would think which is however common in earlier Pajero as well as the L200, or Colt pickup.

Thanks CATS, Didn't know you got only form 08 these models..

But yes, it is just like old Pajero Gen 2 on mechanichs, a 4M40 2.8 TDI engine. Like L200 too. I can't figure this component....

Re: [HELP] Identify this component please
Fellows, this is the component, extracted from 4D56 workshop manula. Since it seems to be the A/C solenoid control and the A/C is working, what should I do?? The lower hose is still loose...

Thanks for any help!

Fellows, problem [partially] solved. On a quick coparison with a friend here who also has a Pajero Sport, same year and engine, we found the lacking spot... But I still don't know what it does..LOL...

It's the hose marked with a red arrow...
