Front shock removal
Is it possible to remove Gen 3 front shocks without removing the upper control arm first? It looks like there might JUST be enough room to drop them without removing the control arm. Anybody done this?
Re: Front shock removal
I have removed my strut a few times, you can do it without removing any control arm. It was a bit of a tight fit for me when I fitted the stofpad spacers ontop of the strut though as they add approx 25mm in length.

Getting the shock out of the coil spring is a whole different story though, you need a coil spring compressor. Quite dangerous without the correct tools as there is loads of stored energy in the coils.

I purchased Monroe front shocks. The factory did not have the rear shocks, so I got KYB shocks for the rear. Will this matter? I understand that the front Monroe's are more heavy duty, but the KYB is similar to OE.
